Homemade brown sugar scrub

There is nothing like homemade stuff or homemade gifts!  This project is an easy project to do   for yourself or to give away as a gift.   It’s super simple and it’s wonderful for your skin!  You can use it on your face or problem areas that you need to exfoliate.   Most of the ingredients are things you probably have right in your kitchen cabinet.

Here are the 3 ingredients for the Homemade Brown Sugar Scrub:

  • Brown sugar (light or dark) – 2 cups
  • Coconut oil or olive oil- 1/4 cup
  • Vanilla extract (imitation or real)- 1 tbs

Here is the simple steps in making your own sugar scrub at home:

Measure out 2 cups of brown sugar

Measure coconut oil and melt in microwave for about 30 seconds

pour coconut oil on top of brown sugar and mix well.  If it looks too dry you can add a few more drops of coconut oil.

Then add your tbs of vanilla extract (this makes it smell so yummy)

pack into a jar of your choice.  (This is an 8 oz. mason jar)

Then add final touches if you are giving as a gift.

This is wonderful way to exfoliate your skin naturally.  The coconut oil also has many benefits for your skin.  And to top it off…..it smells delicious when your using it!

It’s an affordable way to do your own skin care and it comes in handy for mother’s day gift, Christmas present, teacher gift, etc.  Try it today!

  1. Hi, I found your blog through What Joy Is Mine, I originally went to your post on purposeful parenting but couldn’t find how to comment on it, I really appreciated it, great reminder of how important it is to pray for our children. My daughters and I recently discovered homemade sugar scrubs. Thanks for this post, can’t wait to try the lemon one too.
