10 books that have impacted my life

I don’t know about you but I love to read!  Now, I don’t always have as much time as I want to devote to reading but I will fit it in here and there when there is a quiet moment or two.

Over the years I’ve ready a number of books from organizing, self-help, parenting, marriage, cleaning, cooking, etc.  Only a few have really impacted my journey as a mom, wife, and christian.

What makes a good book?  Well, I would have to say that is up to the reader and the season of  life you are in.  For me, each of these books were at times where I needed encouragement, a time to refocus, or a spiritual kick in the pants!  Ha!

Here are the top 10 books I would highly recommend to moms, wives, and christian woman:

Of course I have read MANY more books than just these 10 I mentioned but, these have been books that I have really learned little nuggets of inspiration and encouragement to be a better Christian, wife, mom, and example.

Let me add….of all the wonderful books out there to read, remember that nothing comes before reading the Word of God.  That is where we need to get our direction, strength, wisdom, reproof, correction, doctrine, parenting lessons, & our way of life.

If you enjoy reading…..what books have impacted your life?   What books would you recommend to other moms, wives, or Christian friends?  I would LOVE to hear what books you love.

I also liked the Sally Clarkson books and Love and Respect! I’ll have to read some of these others–I keep hearing about Large Family Logistics, so maybe that’s worth a try, even though we only have 4 children right now 😉 Practically speaking, I really liked Debt Free Living by Mary Hunt. It’s an older book but really helped us in our debt-free journey and just general money management.

I was greatly encouraged and inspired by Sally Clarkson’s “Mission of Motherhood” as well. Her “I Take Joy” blog is also great. I am currently reading a book by her husband, Clay Clarkson, called “Heartfelt Discipline”. So far, it has given great insight on what the bible says about training and disciplining children with lots of biblical references to study alongside.
